*Rayu's Beast mode is the mode which unleashes the evil side of both, werewolf and dragon creatures inside Rayu.* [](https://wiki.rayudw.de/uploads/images/gallery/2025-02/5jGHnKz3u0dLq7OU-rayu-beastmode-1-5-resizedandcompressed.png) **Requirements:** - At least Werewolf Mode & Moonlight (needs to be outside) - Daytime Mode can go into Beast Mode as well. However, this is complex and needs a magical energy trigger and lots of energy for it to work **Trigger:** - Anger - Black Magic (like in "The Order") **Description:** As he gets angry he tries to absorb more moon energy in order to get stronger to be able to protect his friends. By overdoing that and absorbing too much energy, his seal will explode and causes him to change into the Beast Mode, which denies him any control of himself. He's fully controlled by the destructive moon energy which causes his killing and werewolf instincts to dominate his actions, his judgement (=his way of thinking, discerning friends from foes, so everything is an enemy) and his normally kind personality. There still is some free space before the seal is exploding. This is indicated by a pulsing red color of the indicators on Rayu. Therefore, he can absorb a bit more energy without any problems. **After the seal has exploded:** As the seal explodes he loses his standing and falls back. He then is stunned / shocked by the explosion. He doesn't lose its consciousness but it takes him some seconds to get back up. The mode change is triggered as soon as the seal explodes. Rayu is falling to the ground and the moon energy instantly begins to take over his mind. Because of that, he loses control of his own mind. As soon as the moon energy has fully taken control of his mind and while Rayu is laying on the ground and is stunned, his appearance begins to change into the BM. **Red eyes / red breath:** - Eyes will glow completely red - Red breath will be visible if fire is about to be unleashed **How Rayu feels:** He's absolutely frightened of this mode and tries to hide it as good as possible. Just thinking about the damage he could possibly do to others caused him a cold shiver on his back. Therefore, he prefers not to talk about this mode at all. It is noticeable that he regrets ever having reached this mode when you bring up the Beast Mode. If the mode gets triggered anyways, he tries to warn the others of the lurking danger. In full panic, Rayu advises the others to run as far as they can and tries his best to protect his friends as long as he is not yet completely mind-controlled by the moon energy and instincts, as he had sworn to do. If he has triggered it in order to protect his friends he accepts the risk of dealing way too much damage to others more than as he's forced to change into the mode. Still, he tries to not harm Guily at all, as he's responsible that Rayu's still alive. He tries to suppress any killing instincts near Guily. Which can be tough from time to time, as he's controlled by the moon energy AND his werewolf instincts…) By the inner will to protect his (weaker) friends, he tries to keep the control over himself with all possible means, so that he does not hurt them unintentionally or even worse... He could never forgive himself for that.) - Kann sich nach dem Beast Mode an nichts mehr erinnern, was in dieser Form passiert ist. - Gleichzeitig fehlen auch vereinzelt Stücke der Geschehnisse, bevor der Mode getriggert wurde. - Je länger die Rückverwandlung her ist, desto besser kann sich Rayu wieder dran erninnern # Lore # Rayus Past **Rayus human past:** Rayu might have been born as human, however, due to the rare occurrence of being a Dragonborn, he had the blood of a dragon inside his body. This made it easier for him to live near dragons, communicating with them and getting along very well with dragons, although they were quite different creatures. Not only could they interact with each other, the dragons also made it their mission to raise and protect the dragonborn, which was leading to an even deeper bond. At one night however, werewolves announced their awakening by howling and worshipping the full moon. Rayu was fascinated by the sounds and atmosphere and was standing a bit farther away from the dragons cave and just staring into the night sky. However, some moments later, he could hear the nearby bushes rustle. Noticing deep red eyes, Rayu was trying to flee but was caught by a small pack of werewolves, which scratched and bit him. With the ever increasing, mind-controlling, werewolf-curse, he involuntarily attacked his own dragon people without control. As a result, he was cast out of the dragon tribe and got abandoned. The curse also made itself notable during the day. His appearance became more and more wolf-like from day to day. However, neither his human way of thinking, nor his brain, and thus his memories, were touched by this curse. ***Attack of the Dragons. How Rayu gained his partial dragon appearance*** Back at the time when Rayu was cursed to be a werewolf, he was often hunted by humans and also his former dragon tribe. About to transform and losing his mind, Rayu tried running away into an area, where nobody was close, so he couldn't hurt anyone after the full transformation. However, this place was near his former dragon cave. One of the dragons who were out for night-watch noticed him there and watched him struggling what to do and trying to not losing his mind and transforming. Without the chance of Rayu noticing anything, said dragon flew quite close to him and injured Rayu's chest with the claw on its wing. Because of this attack, Rayu showed some wounds, especially in the chest area where he got hit. A second attack was aiming for the wounded spot. A successful and painful hit injected something into Rayu's open wound. It is unknown what this something is. It is only known that since the day of the injection, Rayu no longer transforms into a werewolf only but also takes on certain features of a dragon appearance like a mixed up tail (half wolf, half dragon tail), dragon horns and growing wings whenever a form of the moon prevails. **Why was Rayu cast out of his former dragon tribe?** The attack of his former dragon tribe was planned as a revenge action / to miss a mental note. Rayu should not forget which creatures raised him. **What is the dragon-ish looking kind of seal on his chest?** The meaning of it is unknown to this day.
