Rayus human past:
Rayu might have been born as human, however, due to the rare occurrence of being a Dragonborn, he had the blood of a dragon inside his body. This made it easier for him to live near dragons, communicating with them and getting along very well with dragons, although they were quite different creatures. Not only could they interact with each other, the dragons also made it their mission to raise and protect the dragonborn, which was leading to an even deeper bond.
At one night however, werewolves announced their awakening by howling and worshipping the full moon. Rayu was fascinated by the sounds and atmosphere and was standing a bit farther away from the dragons cave and just staring into the night sky. However, some moments later, he could hear the nearby bushes rustle. Noticing deep red eyes, Rayu was trying to flee but was caught by a small pack of werewolves, which scratched and bit him. With the ever increasing, mind-controlling, werewolf-curse, he involuntarily attacked his own dragon people without control. As a result, he was cast out of the dragon tribe and got abandoned.
The curse also made itself notable during the day. His appearance became more and more wolf-like from day to day. However, neither his human way of thinking, nor his brain, and thus his memories, were touched by this curse.
Attack of the Dragons. How Rayu gained his partial dragon appearance
Back at the time when Rayu was cursed to be a werewolf, he was often hunted by humans and also his former dragon tribe. About to transform and losing his mind, Rayu tried running away into an area, where nobody was close, so he couldn't hurt anyone after the full transformation. However, this place was near his former dragon cave. One of the dragons who were out for night-watch noticed him there and watched him struggling what to do and trying to not losing his mind and transforming. Without the chance of Rayu noticing anything, said dragon flew quite close to him and injured Rayu's chest with the claw on its wing. Because of this attack, Rayu showed some wounds, especially in the chest area where he got hit. A second attack was aiming for the wounded spot. A successful and painful hit injected something into Rayu's open wound. It is unknown what this something is. It is only known that since the day of the injection, Rayu no longer transforms into a werewolf only but also takes on certain features of a dragon appearance like a mixed up tail (half wolf, half dragon tail), dragon horns and growing wings whenever a form of the moon prevails.
Why was Rayu cast out of his former dragon tribe?
The attack of his former dragon tribe was planned as a revenge action / to miss a mental note. Rayu should not forget which creatures raised him.
What is the dragon-ish looking kind of seal on his chest?
The meaning of it is unknown to this day. However, it does change its appearance depending to the time of day or moon phase.
